Medieval Swords And Weaponry is important but which one of this 3 units was the best?

I agree with you, it is almost impossible to give the right answer, and I can add it is not my intension to be the “expert” or the “sword fighting guru” of the XXIst century.
How ever while you are reading this sitting in front of your computer,  700 years ago, guys like you and me were preparing for war. They were ready for battle, equipped with the most advanced medieval weapons of their countries, and it is cool to ask ourselves: “Who was the best?”

Be Careful Swords Are Not Toys

A couple of days ago i went to sword forum an found some very interesting info about swords.

“Swords Are not toys”. In some way i want to tell you a very  important thing they were saying on the forum.

Maybe today a couple of new collectors will be receiving their first Japanese or Viking Sword. For the first time on their lives they hold in their hands the power of history and the great satisfaction that we all feel each time we buy a sword.

But the thing is not what they will fill, it’s how it can become a tragedy. A lot of newbies believe they can learn how to use a swords by watching the “300 Spartan Movie” or by playing Ninja Gaiden. Well, Newbies I have something to tell you I was a newbie once and i learned not all swords are battle ready and you can not learn to use a sword watching a movie.

Maybe the best thing I can tell you is simple: Make sure to read the description of your new sword.

It is not about the risks about buying a new sword, it is how you can have a great sword collection that fits your needs.

How Cavalryman Used His Medieval Sword?

A cavalryman used to stand on the horse stirrups, to draw his medieval sword over his enemy. This position made the soldier vulnerable to attacks because many kinds of armor did not protect the derriere zone. If the horse rider was attacked from behind and then killed, it was a shameful way to die, nonetheless not rare.
The Eastern Europe and the Northern Africa cavalry preferred to have curved swords that are used in a different way than common straight swords.  While straight swords damaged the soldier depending on how strong the cutting blade hit the enemy, the curved ones were much lighter and the damage was based on quick cuts.

Since the game came out back in 2010 i was waiting to have this assassins creed hidden blade in my hands.

Lets start at the beginning. The real name of this small blades is “The Extension Knife” because actually it was not a real hidden sword.

Some of the fans asked me to do a research about them in real life. Well as far I know the attempt to hide swords is as old as the sword it self and we can find some historical proof when Cesar’s got his first stab back in the 1st century BD. But this particular hidden knife was invented until the 17th century, before that they never achieve to create a practical and resistant worth using device.
